A Russian missile struck a nine-storey apartment building in Odessa, Ukraine’s Black Sea port, early Friday, killing at least 10 people, a local official said.
“The death toll from the strike in a multi-storey apartment building has now risen to 10,” Serhiy Brachuk, a representative of the Odessa Common Association, told his telegram station.
Brachuk similarly told state television in Ukraine that seven people, including three young men, had been injured.
He said a rescue operation was underway, as part of the design collapsed and was buried under the rubble.
Another rocket hit a retreat office, Brachuk said, injuring several people in the crowd.
An earlier report had said that six people, including three children, had been killed.
