TE24 International Desk:
A U.S. military plane carrying five Marines crashed in southern California on Wednesday, a spokesman said.
There was no quick word on setbacks, yet the military denied reports the airplane had been conveying radioactive material when it approached Glamis, only 20 miles (35 kilometers) from the Mexican line.
“We can affirm that an airplane having a place with 3d Marine Aircraft Wing crashed close to Glamis,” a representative told AFP.
“Five Marines were locally available the airplane, and we are anticipating affirmation on the situation with all individuals from the group.
“Military and regular citizen people on call are nearby. In opposition to virtual entertainment tales, there was no atomic material on board the airplane.”
The airplane was recognized as a MV-22B Osprey based at Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton.
The Osprey is a supposed “vertical departure and landing” airplane that has rotating wings which can be coordinated vertical to provide it with the mobility of a helicopter, or forward to provide it with the scope of a plane.
The US military has experienced various accidents with the airplane, remembering a mishap for Norway in March that left four Marines dead.
