Algeria’s Jamel Sezati and Sulimane Moura compete in the men’s 800m dash final at the 2022 IAAF World Championships in the United States on Saturday.
The two runners will line up in a field of eight for Saturday’s final after the first heat Thursday at Hayward Field, Eugene, Oregon.
Sejati crossed the finish line first in his second run with a time of 1’45.44 seconds. France’s Gabriel Tual and Britain’s Daniel Rhoden finished second and third. Meanwhile, Mura won the third semifinal with a time of 1:44.89, followed by Canada’s Marco Arp and Kenya’s Emmanuel Wagnoni in second and third respectively.
6 Arab runners participated in the semi-finals of the 800m event. Sejati and Mouza were joined by Morocco’s Maud Zabiullah, El Hassane Mujahid, Abderati El Gesse and Tunisia’s Abderati Ayouni after successfully completing the heats.
Jahafi was first in Heat 3, Sedjati in Heat 4, Moula in Heat 6 and Mujahid second in Heat 1. Ayuni and Erges finished third in the 4th and 6th heats respectively.
