TE24 Bangladesh Desk:
Bangladesh on Friday welcomed the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Myanmar’s preliminary objection to the application or adoption of the Genocide Convention in the Gambia-Myanmar case.
The ICJ’s decision dismissed Myanmar’s four primary objections on legal and procedural grounds.
Bangladesh said issues of international justice and accountability are critical to finding a lasting solution to the Rohingya crisis and confidence-building steps to return the Rohingya people to their homes in Myanmar in a sustainable manner.
At the same time, he insists on respecting what is lawful. The Ministry of External Affairs announced in a press release that the rights would be restored.
