Social organizations celebrated ‘Barsha Utsav 1429’ on Wednesday (June 15) morning through various exhibitions at Dhaka University grounds. The program marks the first day of the Bengali month of Ashar.
In order to save nature and invite the monsoon, the council has organized their ‘Barsha Utsav 1429’ festival at the Barsha Utsav Celebration Council Teacher-Student Center (TSC). Meanwhile, Udichi Shilpi Gosthi (Dhaka Metropolitan Unit), another social organization, was held at Nazrul Mancha of Bangla Academy. Both beautiful projects included singing, running and verse recitation.
The program started at 7:30 pm with the help of Barsha Utsav Udjapan Parishad and started with the ‘Bashi Badha’ meeting of well-known instrumentalist Hasan Ali. The program was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor M Akhtaruzzaman.
“The Barsha festival is celebrated in the capital through various social activities. Every year we welcome the first day of Ashar through the festival and capture the main spirit of the event.” DU Vice-Chancellor said.
In addition to the lively program held at the beginning of the day, another program was held inside the TSC Amphitheater at 4 pm. The event was coordinated by Dhaka University Cultural Society.
