According to media reports, a Brazilian model who joined the Ukrainian army and trained as a sniper to fight Russian aggression has been killed in action.
Tarito de Vale, 39, joined just three weeks ago and is believed to be one of those killed in a Russian missile strike on the northeastern city of Kharkiv. He also participated in humanitarian missions and fought against the Islamic State of Iraq, according to the Daily
The missile attack reportedly killed Douglas Brigo, 40, a former Brazilian soldier who was returning to search for Tarita. The British newspaper Daily Mail claimed that he was the only soldier after the first strike.
Talita has recorded her conflict experiences on YouTube and posted videos of her fight against the Islamic State. She studied law before becoming a model or actress.
Kharkiv is the second largest city in Ukraine and further north. Kharkiv’s regional governor Ole Siniyevov said in a telegram on Wednesday that he had been attacked by Russian missiles overnight.
