So far in the country, the US dollar is being sold at the highest price of 112 rupees in the curb market. As supply is less than demand. The US dollar is rising in both the open and interbank markets of the countries.
Ripon, a dollar seller in Motijheel area of the capital, said that there is a huge demand for dollars in the market.
“There were many customers today, but I could not sell dollars (due to scarcity). Dollars were sold between Rs 112 and Rs 112.5. But customers are selling dollars today. No.”
A relative of a cancer patient said: “It urgently costs $5,000 to take my uncle abroad for treatment. But I couldn’t find dollars anywhere. Someone asked me to pay $1,500, but they charge 112.5 per dollar.
Meanwhile, the price of the dollar in the kerb market was Tk105 to 106 on Monday (25 July). The price increased by almost Tk6 in one day.
