SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Authorities found 46 travelers dead inside a semi truck on Monday (June 27) in San Antonio, Texas, the city’s local group of fire-fighters said, in what has all the earmarks of being one of the most lethal late occurrences of human carrying along the US-Mexico line.
The San Antonio Fire Department said 16 others found inside the trailer were shipped to the clinic for heat stroke and weariness, including four minors.
The truck was seen as close to railroad tracks in a distant region on the city’s southern edges.
Mexico’s Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard considered the suffocation of the travelers in the truck the “misfortune in Texas” on Twitter and said the neighborhood department was in transit to the scene, however the identities of the casualties had not been affirmed.
There have been a record number of traveler intersections at the US-Mexico line as of late, which has ignited reactions of the migration strategies of US President Joe Biden, a Democrat.
