Wicket-batsman Nurul Hasan Sohan will lead the Bangladesh T20 team in the tour of Zimbabwe. Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim have been rested.
BCB Cricket Operations Chairman Jalal Yunus announced the decision after a meeting at a five-star hotel in the capital on Thursday (July 22).
Riyad and fellow senior players Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim have been rested for the T20s, a BCB official said.
Regular captain Mahmudullah Riyad failed to lead the team to T20 victory and West Indies’ batting performance was poor.
Nurul Hasan Sohan (captain), Munim Shahriar, Anamul Haque Vijay, Liton Das, Afif Hossain, Mehdi Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Shariful Islam, Mutafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Mehdi Hasan Miraj and Parvez Hossain.
