The Padma Bridge Authority has collected Rs 20,940,300 in the first 24 hours of the inauguration of the Padma Bridge for traffic development.
The toll was collected from 8 am on Sunday to 8 am on Monday, according to the Padma Bridge Project Authority.
He said 51,316 vehicles crossed the bridge in the same period.
The Padma Bridge was opened to traffic from 8 am on Sunday.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina unveiled the 6.15 km long Padma Bridge.
According to the Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA), government authorities hope that the development cost of the Padma Bridge will be recovered in the next 35 years.
Money Services has given Rs 30,000 crore as credit to BBA, which will be repaid with one per cent loan cost within 35 years.
The government has declared it a punishable offense to stop vehicles, walk and take pictures on the Padma Bridge.
The cabinet called on the general public to be vigilant in complying with the ban.
The government has requested everyone to pay toll while crossing the bridge.
The government authorities have fixed the price rate for different types of vehicles on May 17. The Bridges Department under the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges has issued such a gazette notification.
According to the choice of the government authorities, 100 rupees has been fixed for motorbikes, 650 rupees for private cars and jeeps, 1200 rupees for getting, 1300 rupees for microbuses, 1400 rupees for small transport (with 31 seats) and 2000 rupees for cars. Center transport (with 32 seats), Rs. 2400 for large size transport, Rs. 1800 for small truck (5 tons), medium size truck (north of 5 tons to 6 tons), Rs. From 11 tons), Rs 5500 for large trucks (up to 3 axles), Rs 6000 for large rigs (4 axles) and Rs 6,000 or more for trailers (more than 4 axles).
