TE24 International Desk:
Spain will supply Ukraine with anti-aircraft missiles and Leopard war tanks to advance its strategic assistance to the nation, according to official sources quoted by Paper El Pais on Sunday (June 5). Spain will similarly provide the Ukrainian military with basic training on how to use tanks. This will happen in Latvia, where the Spanish Army has sent 500 troops within the framework of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s extended Advanced Presence activity. A second period of preparation could occur in Spain, according to El Pais.
The paper said Spain’s Defense Ministry is finishing a conveyance to Kyiv of low-level Shorad Aspide hostile to airplane rockets, which the Spanish Army has supplanted with a further developed framework. Spain has up to this point provided ammo, individual assurance hardware and light weapons.
Sources told El Pais that the proposal of expanded help was raised when state leader Pedro Sanchez visited Ukraine and met President Volodymyr Zelensky on April 21, yet had been deferred by the intricacy of the activity.
