The Ministry of Railways has decided to run a special cattle train to transport the sacrificial animals ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
Asim Kumar Talukder, chief supervisor of the Western Railway (Rajshahi), told UNB that the Bangladesh Railway would run trains from July 7 to 8.
The transport cost of each cow has been fixed at Rs 591.50, he said.
For the second time, a special cattle train will run on the Chapainawabganj-Dhaka route via Rajshahi, the western region of Bangladesh Railway.
Obaidullah, Assistant Station Master of Chapainawabganj Railway Station, said the bullock cart wagon has a capacity of 20 animals each – will leave Chapainawabganj station at 4.30 pm and reach Tejgaon around 3 pm.
Eid-ul-Azha is supposed to be celebrated in Bangladesh fortnightly, depending on the position of the moon.
