Standard Chartered Bangladesh won the title of “Best International Bank” in Bangladesh at the AsiaMoney Best Bank Awards 2022.
Standard Chartered Bangladesh has been recognized for its focus on sustainability, economic empowerment and greater financial inclusion, and for demonstrating continued commitment to strengthening economic and social growth. This achievement marks Standard Chartered’s sixth consecutive win in this category at the AsiaMoney Best Bank Awards.
The bank has been lauded for sustainability and green solutions by introducing the market’s first carbon neutral smart card; issuing the first green bond and the first green zero-coupon bond; and pioneered the country’s first sustainable trade finance transaction.
To increase participation, Standard Chartered Bangladesh has provided skills development for youth and returning migrants; Empowered Women Entrepreneurs; Sadiq Islami Banking has launched a unique Sadaqah account for customers; and provided a wide range of community support initiatives to address the impact of COVID-19 on vulnerable and at-risk communities.
