According to Danish police, shooting dead three people and injuring several others at a shopping center in Copenhagen is not considered a “terrorist act”. Dan, 22, was arrested and charged with murder. He will be questioned before a judge late Monday night. Police Chief Soren Thomasen told reporters there were no signs that the suspect was collaborating with others, according to Reuters.
“There was some advice and preparation (by the suspect) for this horrific incident,” Thomasen told a news conference without elaborating on the possible motives of the perpetrator.
“Our current assessment is that they were the victims of the accident.” The incident rocked Denmark over the weekend and the first three stages of the Tour de France cycling race were held. Thousands of cheering Dennis gathered on the country streets. The gunmen killed two 17-year-old men, a man and a woman, and a 47-year-old Russian man living in Denmark.
The other four were injured in the shooting. According to health officials at the Danish Ambulance Service, three of them are currently stable and one is still in danger. Among the injured were two Swedish nationals, a 50-year-old man and a 16-year-old woman.
Several people were slightly injured on the way out of the crime scene, but not shot. The attack happened on Sunday night when a group of young people crowded the mall ahead of a concert by British singer Harry Styles, far away from the mall in Copenhagen. The concert has been canceled.
