New Delhi – A Permanent Account Number (PAN) is a 10-digit alphanumeric identifier issued by the Indian Income Tax Administration (IT). Each PAN has 10 digits made up of a specific alphabet and letter combination. The first 5 characters are always letters, followed by 4 digits and another letter. Along with Aadhaar card, PAN card is one of the most important documents in India. A PAN card is required everywhere from accessing financial services to filing Income Tax Returns (ITR).

A step-by-step guide to download the e-PAN map?
If using a PAN card, follow these steps:
Through PAN
For the PAN option, enter the 10-digit alphanumeric PAN card number. Enter your Aadhaar number (for individuals only), Date of Birth, GSTN (optional) and Catch Code.
After reading the description, check the box to agree.
Then click the Send option.
The e-pan map PDF will be displayed on the screen.
If you have chosen the confirmation number, you will need to follow the steps below. by confirmation number
For Confirmation Number, enter your confirmation number, date of birth, and captcha code.
Then click the Send option.
The e-pan map PDF will be displayed on the screen.
Then click the “Download PDF” option to download the e-PAN.
Important points to know
According to the official website, the feature is available to PAN holders whose latest application has been processed through his NSDL e-Gov. For PAN applications submitted to the NSDL e-Gov that have been assigned a PAN within the last 30 days or have a change confirmed by ITD, the e-PAN map can be downloaded up to 3 times free of charge.
The charge applicable for downloading the e-PAN map is Rs.8.26/- (tax included) if the PAN allocation/PAN data change is confirmed by ITD 30 days in advance.
